Hola Amigos y Familia!
Over the past few days we have been trying to focus and map out the details of our trip. This includes trying to organize lessons in both Spanish and English so that we are prepared for any occasion. Maile has been so great at organizing and structuring the curriculum for our summer camp. There are some really fun activities to come! (I'll have to post a mock-schedule to show y'all). Field trips, talent show nights, worship songs... She's great. And Les has been busy researching bilingual programs and music tabs for our trip- she's come up with some great material! We're thinking about using the theme of Love...As for Katie, she's been busy running all over town trying to get some art supply donations that we can bring with us. Everyone has been really busy preparing to make this an incredible experience for these children. We are thrilled to be apart of such an incredible journey to come :)
We also wanted to thank the many family, friends, and corporations who helped with financial donations to the Orfanato Nino de Cristo. These include: the DeHuffs, the Dyes, the Kratzers, the Marks, the Millers (without you the silent auction would not have been possible), the Keiths, our amazing friends who came down for the silent auction (and the ones who were there in spirit), and the following companies: Sephora, Trader Joes, Jamba Juice, P.F. Chang's (represent haha), Ralphs, Chipotle, Starbucks, Cheesecake Factory, and Pick-Up-Stix. Also, thank you to everyone else who donated anonymously. This trip would not be the same without all of your support. With your donations we are able to take these children on field trips and pay for basic art supplies and school necessities- so THANK YOU!
There is much more to finish before we depart, but just thought we'd say a quick thank you and give a brief update.
Until next time...
Chanel
